Project Description
The main goal of this program is providing free psychological and legal counseling, assistance and support for victims of violence.
Psychological counseling is a necessary postulate for overcoming trauma, empowerment, learning more successful ways of coping with problems and reintegration in the society. The possibility of getting legal advice is as important as psychological counseling so victims can exercise their rights for protection and rebuilt their lives. We wish to provide victims of violence all the help they need in one place, in a safe and confidential environment which also minimizes secondary victimization and structural violence that they often go through while being processed in institutions.
The Centre is opened for victims of all different kinds of violence (psychological, physical, sexual, economic violence and also family abuse and intimate partner violence, bullying, mobbing etc.), regardless of victim’s age, sex, gender etc.
Parallel with providing free psychological and legal counseling, assistance and support for victims of violence, the program consists of other different activities aimed at raising awareness about the problem of violence in the society and about nonviolent ways of conflict resolution as well as including youth in the fight against violence.
Partners on the program are: Social welfare centers Vrbovsko, Senj and Crikvenica and NGOs U.Z.O.R. and PaRiter.
The program is supported by The Ministry of Demographics, Family, Youth and Social Policy, City of Rijeka and Primorsko-goranska County.
